A shower was given Miss Iona M McLeod, of 10 Wilder avenue, Leominster, last night at the home of Mr and Mrs Lewis Shumway,
of 88 Intervale Road, in honor of her approaching marriage to Lewis K Shumway, Jr., S 2/c U S N. About 35 relatives and friends were
present. She was presented with many gifts. Refreshments were served by Mrs Shumway.

FITCHBURG - Iona M. (McLeod) Shumway, 68, of 88 Intervale Road, a seamstress, died Monday night in Brigham & Women's
Hospital, Boston, after a short illness.

She leaves her husband of 51 years, Lewis K. Shumway Sr.; a son, Lewis K. Shumway Jr. of Leicester; a daughter, Karen A. Maki
of Leominster; four granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters. A son, John W. Shumway of Fitchburg, died in 1978. She was
born in Leominster, daughter of James and Iona (Thibaudeau) McLeod, and lived there until moving to Fitchburg 28 years ago. She
was a 1944 graduate of Leominster High School.

Mrs. Shumway was an accomplished seamstress and knitter, and worked for Elena Dress Co. in Leominster many years ago. She
was a former member and past matron of Lady Emma Chapter 27, Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
