A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 1999, in Macy & Son Funeral Directors in McMinnville for Constance Kathleen
Shumway Blackett, who died June 4 at age 84.
Mrs. Blackett was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Barton, England. Her maiden name was Smith. In 1947 she immigrated to the United States
and married Walter Shumway in McMinnville, where they farmed until 1980. Mr. Shumway died in 1985. She married Jesse Hockema
later that year; he died in 1988. She married George Blackett in 1989 and lived in England near Yorkshire until returning to the
Portland area after his death in the early 1990s.
Survivors include her daughter, Myrna Pinkerton of Seattle; sister, Clarice Collett of Grimsby, England; three grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum in McMinnville. The family suggests remembrances to the Humane
Society.
