John Worthington Shumway May 16, 1934 - March 23, 2007 John Worthington Shumway, 72, of Encino,
California, beloved husband, father, and grandfather died on March 23, 2007. Mr. Shumway
was born on May 16, 1934 in Bangor, Maine to Agnes Mosher Shumway and Sherman Nelson Shumway. He grew
up in Los Angeles, California, attended Deerfield Academy and Stanford University.
Mr. Shumway served proudly and with honor in the U.S. Army. He had a career in management with his family at
Leeds Engineering Corporation where he worked from 1967-2007. He also enjoyed spending time fishing,
gardening, and traveling.
Mr. Shumway is survived by his loving wife, Susan Cook Shumway, sons Scott and Stephen, daughters,
Sarah and Elizabeth, and his 13 grandchildren.
Visitation prayer service will be held at Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills today,
March 27, 2007 at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer
Foundation- www.prostatecancerfoundation.org in his memory.
