Notes for Mabel Grace Bartlett

Mabel G. (Bartlett) Shumway, 90, of Ashfield Road, died Thursday in a local nursing home.

She taught school in New Brunswick, Canada, and had been employed as a visiting nurse in Williamsburg until 1970.

Born in Bayside, New Brunswick, she was a graduate of The Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing, Northampton and had been a
resident of Williamsburg since 1929.

She was a member of the Williamsburg Congregational Church, the Williamsburg Grange, and the Williamsburg Historical Society.

Her husband, Leon Shumway, died in 1964. She leaves a son, Peter B. of Williamsburg; four daughters, Shirley Jane Smith of
Warsaw, N.Y., Doris Sebastian of Norwich, Conn., Donna Bunyan of Hebron, Conn. and Leona Brown of Falmouth, Maine;
a brother, Harry Bartlett of Bayside, New Brunswick; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon in the church with burial in Village Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
The Czelusniak Funeral Home is in charge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Goshen Ambulance Fund, Goshen.
