SHUMWAY, DONALD, Age 77, passed away after a long illness February 18, 2006. Preceded in
death by his mother and father; 3 sisters, Dot, Mary Ann and Doris; 2 brothers, Buddy and twin Ronald;
and nephew, Johnnie.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Jonnie; 2 sons, Don ald Jr. and wife Becky, Ronald and wife Gracie;
3 grandsons, Joseph, David and John Henry, one niece Marsha; 2 nephews, Mark and Chris; God-son,
Bobby Fite and step mother-in-law, Lola Akins of Mineola.
He was a very loyal employee of State Farm Insurance for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan.
As a young boy and man he played basketball, baseball and softball. He coached little league baseball
and pee wee football. He thoroughly enjoyed doing so. He sometimes worked with the Golden
Gloves boxers. And he liked to bowl. He will be lovingly carried to his final resting place by very dear friends
and fellow State Farm Insurance retirees, Al Barbosa, Jim Bolen, Ed Hudson, Harry Ostrom, Ralph Ramos and
Willard Zimmerer.
Services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Restland Abbey Chapel.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service at Abbey Chapel.. Restland 972- 238-7111
