PRATT - Johanna Katherine Shumway, 88, died Nov. 15, 2007, at Lakewood Senior Living, Pratt.
She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Cleveland, the daughter of Aloyisus and Josephine Maason Gillen.
She belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Women of Sacred Heart, and the Hutchinson Fiddlers and Pickers Club.
On Nov. 14, 1936, she married Avery C. Shumway at Wichita. He died Oct. 29, 2005.
Survivors include: two sons, Darrell, Pratt, and Leon, Chickasha, Okla.; a daughter, Trevlyn Detmer, Ellinwood; nine grandchildren;
two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Vincent Gillen; and two sisters, Martha Alice Ogle and Susanna Kitson.
Vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, with the Rev. Gregory S. LeBlanc presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Turon Cemetery.
