YAKIMA - Luella Shumway, 66, passed away March 12, 2007 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She
was born in Wolf Point, Roosevelt, Montana on January 19, 1941 to John and Helen Nitschke. Luella and her husband of 48
years, Lloyd Shumway have resided in Yakima, Washington since 1989.
Luella loved the outdoors, working in her garden, being with her horses and the company of family and friends.
She was a sweet and kind woman, loved and admired by all that knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Luella was preceded in death by her father, John Nitschke and her brother, Charles Nitchske. She is
survived by her husband, Lloyd Shumway, daughter, Jaundra Broussard, sons, Doug Shumway and David Englund
and nine grand children. She is also survived by her mother Helen Nitschke, sister Nancy Bauer and brother
John Nitschke.
