of years before he bought the Crystal Springs Dairy Bar in Ware on 12/31/71.

Loren D. "Shum " Shumway, 56, of 48 North Main St., died Thursday in Mary Lane Hospital in Ware. He owned and operated
The Crystal Springs Dairy Bar in Ware for many years. Born in Ware, he was a longtime resident of Belchertown and a
graduate of New Salem Academy. He was a member of Belchertown Congregational Church and the Belchertown Fire Department.
He leaves a daughter, Susan Shumway of Garland, Texas; a brother, Ralph of Texas; and his fiancee, Betty Marshall of
Belchertown, Mass.
