ARTHUR SHUMWAY
Arthur Shumway, aged 89 years, of 31 Grant Steet, Wellsboro, died at 5 o'clock Friday afternoon, at the soldiers and sailors
Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for several months.
He was born Sept 23, 1854 at Shumway Hill, son of Palmer and Mary Bacon Shumway. He was a lifelong resident of
this vicinity, having been engaged in farming and the livestock business for many years. He is survived by one sister,
Mrs Clara Rorapaugh, of Green, N Y., formerly of Wellsboro, and several nieces and nephews. He was twice married,
first to Mary Bunnell, who died in 1929, and later to Dolly Clark, now a resident of Buffalo.
Thw funeral was held yesterday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Rev Arthur Gregson officating; burial in yhe Wellsboro Cemetery.
