and Treasurer for 14 years; He was one of the forefounders and the first
President of the First National Bank of Lanark;

Romanzo Greeley Shumway is dead at Polo, Ogle, Ill. He was born Feb 12, 1832., in Ohio and moved to Illinois with his parents at
the age of 4 and settled near Rockford. From Rockford he moved to Dixon and later to Milledgeville, Ill. In 1855 he married Eugenia M.
, daughter of Dr. and Mrs W. K. Palmer of Aurora. In 1871 he moved to Polo and engaged in the banking business. In 1886 he opened
a private bank in Milledgeville, which is now the Shumway State Bank.
