Death Notices Dothan, Alabama
Alice Stum, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Flowers Hospital.
She was 73.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Southern Heritage
Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alabama Children's
Hospital Foundation, 1600 Seventh Ave. S., Birmingham, AL 35233, or to a charity of
choice.
Mrs. Stum was born March 19, 1933, in West Grove, Penn. She had been a resident of
Dothan for the past 15 years, having moved here from California.
She enjoyed many hobbies including cross-country motorcycle touring as well as growing
flowers and making flower arrangements. Mrs. Stum was a homemaker. She was also a
member of the Ladies Elks Club and a supporter of charity - especially handicapped children
charities.
Her parents, Loren Franklin and Alice Fell Shumway, a brother and two children preceded
Mrs. Stum in death.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Billy Stum, Dothan; two daughters, Patricia Deshene,
Maine, Kay Wright, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, mber Strawn, Minnesota, and USAF Staff Sgt. Neal
Strawn and wife, Liz, California.
