Notes for Elvin Giles Shumway

Elvin Giles Shumway, 70, died January 27, 1999.

He was born in Lindon on November 26, 1928 to Melvin and Eunice Shoell Shumway. He married Lois Jane Mott on March 8, 1950
in Orem, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 25, 1963.

Elvin worked at Geneva Steel for 40 years. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as a Scout Master and Merit Badge
Counselor. He was a member of F.O.E. erie #2924. He lived in Utah County until 1991 when he moved to East Carbon. He was an
Orem City Auxiliary Policeman. He worked for five years as a boat mechanic. He was a member of "Good Sam's" Chapter 38.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of East Carbon; a daughter, Linda (Paul) FinauMahe of Clearfield; two sons, Dan E. (Nikki) Shumway
of Orem; and Charles Shumway of Minot, North Dakota; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Don (Thea) Shumway of Orem;
Jay (Donna) Shumway of Lindon; and Nyle (Glenda) Shumway of Orem.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 1, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Northridge Ward Chapel, 1875 North 280 West, Orem.
Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, or on Monday, at the
Ward Chapel, one hour prior to services. Interment, Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
