Notes for Charles Oscar Shumway

Houston County, Minnesota; educated in the public schools and two years at an academy in Minneapolis; in1883 he help organize and became manager of the lumbar business of Shumway, Everett & Co at Concord, Nebr.; in 1889 went into the machinery business at Lyons, Nebr., which was afterwards consolidated with the lumbar business of J. Shumway, of which he remained in charge until 1906, when he went to Sheridan, Ore., as General Manager of the Sheridan Lumbar Company; was President and then Secretary for serveral years of the Nebraska & Western Iowa Implement Dealers' Association; he served on School Board and as Village Trustee; is a member of the M. E. Church
