In the 1850 US Census, Thomas Shumway(49) was living in Oxford. Massachusetts, on a farm valued
at $1,000. He was born in Massachusetts and his wife Mary Blackstock(45) was born in New York State.
Also on the farm is Eliza Blackstock(69), Mary's mother???, and James Blackstock(37),
Mary's brother???.
It appears that this farm adjoined the orginial Shumway homestead in Oxford, as
Peter Shumway (77), uncle to Thomas, lives on farm($4800) next to Thomas.
