"Carrie and Grover spent all but twenty months of their married life in the Lyons Area where he farmed, worked as a common laborer and eventually carried mail for over thirty years in the city of Lyons. Carrie was an industrious housewife and was much involved in the United Methodist Church in Lyons and the Ebenezer Home Demonstration Home Unit. They enjoyed travel and tried to visit every state in the 48 and Canada."
