The Shumway Root Cellar

Notes for Amos Shumway

In 1850 Census, Amos was living Le Ray, Jefferson, New York. His age is listed
as 57 which would make him 3 years younger than the Shumway book. The census
also lists Fanny as is wife and son-in-law William A Paul and daughter Minina Shumway Paul,
both 21, as living on the Shumway farm. None of their other 7 children are living at home.

Amos and Fanny were born in Vermont. Their daughter and son-in-law were born in
New York State.

In the 1870 US Census, Amos Shumway and his wife, Fanny Wilson, were living with their
youngest child, Minerva Shumway and her husband , William Paul, on a farm in New York,
Caldwell, Missouri.
