Isaac Whitney Shumway MA Line 542280, soldier enlisted at Belcher,
in Hampshire Co, MA. He applied for pension 21 April 1818 at Palmyra, in Ontario Co, NY,
aged 57. In 1830, soldier was living with son Levi Shumway in MI and he applied for transfer
in Monroe Co, MI. In 1843 soldier was living in Parrinton(Perinton??) in Monroe Co, MI
(should be NY) with son-in-law (not named).

b.Oct. 12, 1761, in Belchertown, Mass., d. Dec. 30,1849, a pay roll for the six months
men who were detached from Belchertown to serve in the Continental Army in 1781
show his name, thus: "Whitney Shumway 4 July 1780 Disch'd 12 Dec 1781 Miles away 150---;
in an earlier record of 1781 he is described as "Light- 5 foot 3 in. Farmer engaged for 3 years";
he married Patience Pratt Dec. 8, 1785; she was b. Nov. 1, 1755, d Spe. 5, 1814; children
Isaac Whitney Shumway was in the cattle business in Fairport, NY.
His partner was his son-in-law, Milton Budlong .
