In the 1850 US Census, Bradford Shumway (Shomway) (36) and his second wife, Cornelia Ann Woodell (32),
reside in Amity, Erie, Pennsylvania. They live on a farm valued at $800. The twins, Cornelia and Cordelis are
age 7 and were born in New York. George Shumway (5) and Edward Shumway (3) and their infant sister,
Josephine Adelaide Shumway were born in Pennsylvania. Bradford's mother-in-law, Louisa Woodell (69)
also resides with the Shumway family.
In the 1880 US Census, Bradford Shumway (67) and his wife, Cornelia Ann Woodell (64)
are living in Deerfield and Oasis, Waushara, Wisconsin. With them on their farm live
daughter, Louisa Dorine Shumway (29), Dorine Anderson and
John William Shumway (24), aka William Shumway in the 1880 census.
In 1900, Bradford Shumway (86) is residing with his son-in-law, Henry Anderson and daughter,
Louisa Dorine Shumway in Skookumchuck, Lewis, Washington.
DEATH OF BRADFORD SHUMWAY
W J Shumway received a telegram Saturday from his sister, Mrs H T Anderson of Hood River, Oregon announcing the
death of their father. Mr Shumway left last Sunday for Grafton, N D., where the funeral will be held with interment
beside his wife who died a number of years ago. Mr Shumway's death was caused by a general break down caused
by his advanced years. Bradford Shumway was born in October 1813, and was therefore in his 94th year. Mr Shumway
was well acquainted in this city and also in Waushara County, where he settled on what was known as the Big Pairie.
